Scott Rotary Seals (SRS) of Olean, NY is looking to hire a Planner/Scheduler. This role is responsible for the production schedule and planning activities for flowing product through manufacturing and subcontracting activities in support of on-time delivery of customer products. Does this sound interesting? If so, please read on! A Day in the Life of a Planner/Scheduler As a Planner/Scheduler , you'll be the project owner on all custom projects for RU's RTC's, and Bearings. You will monitor all new orders to determine what type of planning is necessary to ensure design, procurement, manufacturing and delivery is executed flawlessly. You'll create and update the production schedules to target completion dates. You'll verify that manufacturing orders are released and started on-time and learn best ways to utilize the company's productive capacity and supply chain. You'll use your analytical skills to review inventory levels and sales orders to forecast production needs. You'll build relationships with suppliers who are classified as subcontracting or services and follow up with suppliers to ensure materials and purchased parts are delivered on-time. You enjoy training and offering your ideas and often share your expertise to others. You embrace technology and effectively use Excel and web-based project tracking software throughout your day. You know your way around other common office programs like Outlook email and Microsoft Word. You believe in 6S lean practices and keep your area clean and organized. You understand that cleanliness and organization contribute to safety, productivity and job satisfaction. Qualifications for a Planner/Scheduler 5-7+ years previous experience in a production planning or materials control function. Bachelor degree in Business Management, Supply Chain, or related major preferred. Associate Degree and relevant experience may be substituted. Demonstrated analytical skills in forecasting and anticipating production needs/capabilities Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress Strong working knowledge of MS Office Products including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Previous electronic scheduling and data management experience Proficient in the use of MRP/ERP systems (Epicor, Oracle, SAP, JD Edwards, etc.) Organizational abilities, both in physical and electronic workspace. Strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Ability to collaborate within a team as well as work independently. A high degree of mechanical aptitude is required.
