Salary $69,528 - $88,219 Grade: 20 The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene, Inc (RFMH) is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a full-time Recovery Specialist and Trainer to provide training and technical assistance to Peer Specialists and other team members of OnTrackNY. OnTrackNY is a team-based mental health treatment program that empowers young people to make meaning of their experiences and to pursue their goals for school, work, and relationships. We support the well-being of young people across New York State who are impacted by unexpected changes in their thinking and perceptions. Equity, inclusion, rapid access, and self-determination are at the core of everything we do. This person will be a highly visible part of both training and technical assistance teams. They will interface with site staff and community partners. The incumbent will report to the Recovery Specialist and Trainer Supervisor and work closely with the OnTrackNY Director of Clinical Training. This person in this position has the option to do remote work. The Recovery Specialist and Trainer will understand person-centered practice and the process and possibility of robust recovery for people diagnosed with psychiatric conditions. The successful candidate will have proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including Outlook, Excel, and have excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful candidate will be able to troubleshoot and problem-solve effectively. All applicants should include a cover letter with their application. Duties and Responsibilities: Provide coaching and consultation to individual Peer Specialists and teams to support fidelity to role as developed Provide training to program staff (Peer Specialists and fellow team members) on the delivery of person-centered, recovery-oriented services to young people and their families by utilizing their personal and professional lived experiences, communicating the unique role peer specialists have when working on clinical teams. This would also include positively influencing the team culture around this role. Develop and maintain effective working relationships with program staff and community partners Develop and enhance training materials, including presentations, web-based materials such as videos and learning modules, and tools to promote recovery Connect initiative staff, participants, and family members with recovery-oriented community resources. Provide training and TA to program staff around utilizing and building natural supports, peer resources, and other helpful networks in the community. Plan and facilitate topical discussions person-centered, recovery-focused service provision Utilize lived experience to inform practice and program development Fulfill other responsibilities as they emerge Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or a related social science and at least two years of employment experience in related field. Lived/living experience of mental health recovery or other related experience can substitute for education. At least one year experience making presentations to groups and communicating in written and verbal form within a professional setting. Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year working as a Peer Specialist with the ability to become certified as an NYCPS within the first year of hire Personal experience of receiving services from an OnTrackNY team or work experience as an OnTrackNY Peer Specialist preferred. A strong understanding of the role of Peer Specialist in the mental health system At least 1 year of experience providing training and/or technical assistance in behavioral health or other human service settings preferred RFMH employees may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 depending on work location and must provide proof of vaccination. Individuals that are not vaccinated for COVID-19 are ineligible for appointment to positions that require vaccination. Fully vaccinated is defined as two (2) or more weeks since receiving either the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or the first and only dose of a single-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson [J&J]/Janssen).
