The Position: Supervise and support Property Accountants producing financial statements for multiple properties in deadline driven environment. Communicate with the Property Accounting team to discuss the financial performance of properties, provide analysis, and answer financial questions. Oversee all financial statement processing, ensuring results comply with GAAP. Review the compilation and delivery of monthly financials for accuracy, adhering to deadlines. Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements. Establish internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation. Coordinate and assist in annual external audits and tax returns. Develop team by managing performance, setting goals, providing training, and maintaining strong relationships through mentoring and coaching. Prepare construction management fee calculations and provide cash management oversight for assigned investor properties. Act as direct point of contact for assigned investors. Serve as backup for Property Accountants in all functions for their role. Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Prior experience, minimum three years, with progressive accounting experience in a team lead/supervisor capacity. Advanced experience in Excel (v-look ups, pivot tables, etc.) required. Excellent verbal, written, and communications skills. Ability to work with a team, providing guidance and focusing attention on details, to complete projects. Experience organizing, scheduling, and prioritizing team and individual work to meet various objectives and initiatives. Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes to resolve and identify opportunities to streamline team functions. Knowledge of multifamily real estate and property management a plus.
