Position Summary Concordia University invites applicants for the full-time, exempt position of Assistant Track and Field Coach at the CUW Mequon, WI campus. This position will work under the Head Coach of Track & Field and will help assist with daily duties of what the sport requires. The candidate must be available Monday-Saturday, as they assist the Head Coach with all facets of Concordia's NCAA Men's and Women's Track and Field Programs. This position reports to the Head Coach and Director of Athletics at the Mequon, WI campus. The hours of work and days will vary upon athletic practices and competition schedule. Job Duties & Responsibilities Coaching duties: long jump, triple jump and high jump and/or assigned by Head Coach of Track & Field Recruiting: Will serve as a recruiter and recruit track & field student athletes in coached events and other events as needed. Fundraising: Help assist Associate Head Track & Field and Cross Country coach with gathering new contacts, design and send out letters, organize donations, E - Team Sponsor and help in any other fund raising activities Identifying potential program problems and outlining solutions by forming practicable conclusions Administrative: Frontrush management, equipment inventory, meet results posting Create engagement and build program interest through social media channels Identifying the developmental needs of athletes through coaching, mentoring or otherwise helping individuals improve their knowledge or skills and academic success Responsible for training and the implementation of workouts for athletes in Track & Field; events LJ, TJ, HJ Attending department and staff meetings Adhering to all NACC and NCAA rules May perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities A strong commitment to the Student-Athlete concept and a working knowledge of NACC and NCAA rules and regulations A strong knowledge of track and field event technique, design and implementation Demonstrated ability to integrate with a track & field team with a diverse social and economic background Excellent verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to perform physical activities that require the use of arms and legs and moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, stooping and handling of materials Must be willing to travel and work evenings and weekends Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS) Education & Experience Experience at the college level preferred with coaching track & field specifically long jump, triple jump, high jump At minimum of a Bachelor's degree with a Master's degree preferred in a related field with track and field coaching certifications preferred Physical Demands/Equipment Compensation and Benefits This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position. The starting wage may be determined upon education and/or experience.
