Job Description SOUTH BAY SANDBLASTING & TANK CLEANING, INC. located in San Diego, CA shipyard related subcontractor looking to hire a Staff Accountant. Job Summary We're seeking for an experienced Staff Accountant that will have job duties of Daily Bank and Cash Status reports, Accounts Payable, purchase order receiving and processing, month end bank and credit card reconciliations, payroll tax and end payroll reporting, fixed asset management, other general accounting responsibilities. Must be in San Diego California, we are not looking to relocate candidates at this time. Responsibilities: Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization. Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements. Maintains the general ledger. Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts, and closes the monthly books. Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks. Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts. Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned. Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. Skills/Abilities: Excellent attention to detail Strong organizational and mathematical skills Verbal and written communication Ability to work with a team Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financial matters Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets Multitasking abilities Good research and analysis skills Preferred Qualifications: Two years of accounting experience, preferably in construction and/or shipbuilding industry. Experience with an accounting ERP system (Sage 300CRE (Timberline) Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in accounting Associate degree in any field or a seasoned bookkeeping experienced Working Environment and Physical Demands: Must be able to sit and stand, will be in an office setting, must be flexible to work varying schedules and hours as needed (fulltime).
