Crafco, Inc. has an opening for a Plant Manager at our sealant manufacturing facility in Dekalb, IL. The Plant Manager is responsible and accountable for managing all functions of the CRAFCO Sealant Plant including safety, production, plant operations, service center operations, scheduling, quality, maintenance, and delivery of various Crafco products. Responsible for plant safety and environmental compliance, and sealant plant capital improvement projects. Critical Duties include: Promotes safety-first culture and assures that facility operates in accordance with required safety, environmental, DOT and other applicable regulations. Provides leadership to the entire organization and is the direct supervisor for the sealant plant leadership team. Identifies strategic direction for the operation that aligns with CRAFCO strategic imperatives. Drives operational excellence utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, process and systems thinking and by leveraging lean related tools. General Duties include: Develop, implement, and oversee all manufacturing plant operation functions in conformance with established company vision, mission, and business values. Develop and plan budgets for capital expansion of operations, plant expansion, and production equipment purchases for the sealant plant. Consider sales forecasts and incorporate into production plans and budgets. Evaluate new equipment product concepts for manufacturing capabilities; check budgetary limits for such products. Handle all plant personnel functions including staffing, compensation, termination, transfer, and promotions. Establishing and maintaining an effective Quality Assurance Program. Represent the Sealant Plant at various corporate, sales, and customer meetings. Encourage good employee working relations within the plant, and with other company departments and customers. Production Duties include: Oversee sealant plant production operations and facilities. Assure compliance with regulatory requirements including safety, environmental, transportation, and security. Develops site specific safety and environmental procedures, as required, with direction and assistance by Ergon EHS. Assure that the production facility is maintained and operated in a safe, clean, and well-maintained manner. Plan and monitor plant maintenance to make certain that all equipment is functioning properly at the manufacturing facility. Assure that products are produced and shipped on schedule. Monitor manufacturing of sealant products in most efficient manner possible, and be responsible for product quality, cost, and delivery. Assure that all products are manufactured and packaged in accordance with current instructions from Sealant Engineering and Sealant Operations Management. Assure that all inventories of raw and finished products, transactions, receiving, jobs, and shipments are correct, performed accurately, on time and in accordance with procedures from the Materials Manager and Accounting. Develop improvements in production processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Supervision of all production and proper training of all staff. Assures that the appropriate personnel are supervising the manufacturing, maintenance, quality control, administrative, shipping/receiving and service center departments at the plant. Assure that Service Center functions (equipment service and repairs) at the plant are performed effectively and efficiently (If applicable). Qualifications include, but not limited to: Bachelor's Degree in business, management, or technical field (or related). Minimum 10 years production management or manufacturing plant operations experience. Quality certifications, Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Continuous Improvement backgrounds are preferred, and candidates with these attributes will have higher consideration. Minimum 10 years experience with MRP systems. Computer Proficiency including email, Word, Excel, and MS Office applications and proprietary systems. Ability for minor travel when required. Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. Working knowledge and understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and requirements preferred.
