Job Summary: Are you someone who has a passion for leading and working with teams to design and manufacture products to meet cost, schedule, and performance requirements of commercial and government customers? As Deputy Program Manager you are responsible for leading, managing, and delivering programs and products to commercial and governmental contract requirements on a variety of smaller projects (R&D to engineering development/production/test efforts) for the defense and aerospace, heavy equipment and industrial machinery, or power and energy markets. You are responsible for cost, schedule, performance specifications, and delivery of quality product. Lead frequent project team meetings and the integrated product team (kick-off through project close) while working closely with customers. You will work with customers to identify times where customers are asking for work outside of the original project and you will work capture costs, see contractual modifications are executed, and develop budget and oversee invoicing for the performance of this additional/new work. Duties and Responsibilities: Develop best practices and tools for project management, facilitate team and individual disciplines for good program performance, which lead to product realization/new product development Accomplishes strategic objectives to grow business relationships Assist & Lead informative, well-organized presentations, design/program & test readiness reviews, and coordinate/facilitate meetings with customers as needed Assist in creation of schedules by matching teams & work-break down requirements Identify and manage program cost, schedule, and proactively identify & mitigate potential costs, risks, schedule delays through detailed risk mitigation plans and implementation Communicate job expectations by planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions and delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members. Identify and resolve project issues and team conflicts When required, negotiate with managers and directors for the acquisition of required resources Effectively support program transition from engineering to manufacturing development for manufacturing readiness. Establish and promote engineering or manufacturing program/technical risk management in accordance with best practices and ISO 9001/AS9100 Other duties assigned Job Qualifications: 2-3 years direct work experience in a program management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution of small to large engineering or manufacturing teams with multiple levels of management Proven experience with Microsoft: Project, Excel, & Powerpoint Understanding of ERP systems such as Deltek Costpoint or similar Familiarity with New Product Development (NPPD) Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and schedules Strong written and oral communication skills Overtime may be required in meet project deadlines Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization Minimum Requirements Needed: Bachelor's Degree in the Business or Engineering or Related Field 2-3+ years of proven work experience in a program management; PMP certification preferred Positions with CME require access to controlled goods and technologies subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.
