Position Purpose & Summary Golf course superintendent is entrusted with the maintenance, operations and management of the golf course and clubhouse grounds The golf course superintendent carefully manages the maintenance inputs to the golf course while conserving and protecting natural resources. He/ she will directly influence the playing areas and landscapes with which golfers interact. Essential Functions: Interviews, hires, trains, directs, and supervises a staff of employees for the purpose of maintaining the golf course. Plans and participates in all maintenance and project work, applying his or her agronomic and administrative expertise to achieve the agreed-upon maintenance standards and long-range goals. Oversees the scheduling and routing of personnel and equipment to accomplish the work. The superintendent frequently inspects the golf course and related areas to evaluate how well maintenance standards are being achieved and to effect changes maintenance programs. Acquires and purchases necessary supplies to maintain the golf course and other locations around the property. Responsible for inventory control. Develops safety policies, procedures, and programs for the operation (in conjunction with Human Resources). Keeps accurate records on inventory, weather data, maintenance procedures, pesticide applications, etc. Deliver "I Am Proud" service standards and department-specific signature touch points. Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: Greet every guest, member, and team member with "I Am Proud" standards and set a positive tone for every interaction. Address feedback by utilizing the LEARN Model. Demonstrate a professional appearance and be attentive to what matters most. Comply with company policies and procedures. Observe and adhere to safety guidelines. Marginal Functions: Perform other duties as assigned. Interface positively with other departments, offering assistance when needed. Displays care in use of equipment and maintains an organized and professional work environment. Position Requirements: Minimum Knowledge & Skills: Requires advanced knowledge of agronomy and turfgrass management practices; a working knowledge of golf facility construction principles, practices and methods; and a thorough understanding of the rules and strategies of the game of golf. Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: Minimum of an Associates degree in Turfgrass Management or related field . Previous experience as a Golf Course Superintendent License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Qualified Supervisor for the Colorado Department of Agriculture External and Internal Personal Contact: Communications: Daily - Runs daily department meeting Weekly - Participates in resort stand ups. Occasionally - Participate in one-on-one coaching sessions. Teamwork and Collaboration: This position requires continuous teamwork as well as internal and cross-departmental communication. This job is a team leader in the departmental work team. Has responsibility and accountability for team activities.
