The Inventory / Demand Planner is responsible for analyzing inventory levels and historical sales data to determine future demand based on sales trajectories and market research. In this role, you will also manage the day-to-day tasks related to inventory planning including placing purchase orders to vendors internationally, communicating with warehouse partners, and collaborating with internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have great attention to detail and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively throughout the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyzing sales data, trends, and customer demands to create and maintain inventory forecasts Make recommended adjustments to forecast based on changes in demand and market trends Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to place new production orders, ensure timely delivery of products to meet demand, and explore cost-saving opportunities Efficiently manage the distribution of product inventory- including purchase orders to vendors, shipment tracking, and warehouse communications Developing plans for maintaining inventory levels, including determining how much inventory should be kept on hand and anticipating potential shortages Evaluate excess inventory situations and develop liquidation plans that maximize revenue and margin Recommending improvements to inventory management systems based on past results Provide daily and weekly updates on business as it relates to the last forecast, identifying trends, and highlighting selling that exceeds or falls short of expectations Summarize the opportunity and risk of a product plan as it relates to trend and financial metrics: initial mark-up, average unit retail, average unit cost, net margin dollars/rate Initiate conversations with cross-functional partners regarding potential risks or opportunities Other duties as assigned REQUIREMENTS: B.S. in Supply Chain Management or related experience 2+ years of experience in merchandise planning, inventory management, or purchasing - experience in e-commerce, is a plus NetSuite experience is a plus! Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management Experience dealing with multiple warehouses, and importing internationally Experience with more than 1k SKUs Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required; ability to adopt new systems and tools quickly Strong financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills Job Posted by ApplicantPro
