Mold Setter

Description:
Purpose: Installation and removal of molds from injection molding presses. Job Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Installation and removal of molds from injection molding presses and completing required documentation Emphasis on mold setting and proper hook up of water lines, air lines, etc. Removes molds from press at the completion of production run, inspects tools for damage or repair needs and prepares them for storage in the designated mold storage area Retrieves tools from storage and prepares them for production in accordance with production schedule established by the Production Scheduler Maintain setup equipment and housekeeping of equipment storage area Maintain positive employee relations and adhere to Company policies and safety standards House Keeping; must keep work areas clean at all times Reports to Production Supervisor/Production Manager Requirements: Understanding of Injection Molding Presses and Auxiliary Equipment Ability to maintain good housekeeping of equipment storage areas Ability to work independently without constant supervision Ability to carry out safe and efficient mold changes 1 to 3 years + in tool setting Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear) Attention to detail Teamwork and communication skills Physical stamina and strength Must be flexible; able to work extended hours and weekends when required Must be able to read and write English High school diploma is preferred but not required Physical Demands: The description below is intended to describe the general content and requirements for the performance of this job but is not limited to: While performing the duties of the job, the employee may be required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Some duties may be removed at any time and new duties may be added as GTI continues to grow. If and as required under federal or state law, upon request, reasonable accommodations which do not create an undue hardship will be considered, discussed, offered and implemented (if accepted) to enable persons with defined disabilities to overcome barriers to the performance of essential functions of the position.
