JOB OBJECTIVE The Part 135 Project Manager provides onsite representation for Metro Aviation in all matters relating to maintenance visits of Metro Aviation aircraft at the Service Provider (PAC) and other assigned outside maintenance providers as assigned in order to maintain quality, cost, and schedules within expectations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION Maintains a close liaison with the Part 135 Director of Maintenance to provide current status of aircraft maintenance events in progress and forecasts downtime Receive requests from the field at the time maintenance, inspections or modifications are requested, and then coordinates and oversees all aspects of Metro Aviation aircraft maintenance, inspections, modifications, in the Service Providers maintenance facility from induction, through acceptance upon completion Provide a management presence that will ensure all decisions made and actions taken are in the best interest of Metro Aviation in all matters relating to the services provided by the Service Provider Oversee the Service Provider to ensure compliance with all policies, practices and procedures required by the Metro Aviation General Operations Manual, MAI AAIP, other published technical data, documents and directives Work closely with Regional Maintenance Managers and Program Lead Aviation Maintenance Technicians to plan and develop schedules and work scopes for aircraft maintenance, repairs, inspections and modifications to be performed at the Service Provider Investigate the prior service history of the aircraft for any prior service issues and evaluate the need to address these further. i.e. engine health, aircraft performance, abnormal or aggressive environment that may cause additional work Coordinate and schedule Metro Aviation aircraft into the Service Provider's facility with the Service Provider's Part 135 Director of Maintenance or his/her designee Monitor the completion and processing of aircraft maintenance records Supervisory responsibility and accountability for the Service Provider including: a. Progress and status of work b. Workmanship and quality of work c. Adequate, productive, and effective man-power Monitor each maintenance event for completion of work within established schedules Provide liaison between the Service Provider, Metro Aviation Maintenance Department, and the aircraft manufacturer, as necessary, ensuing the communication is either approved and/or shared with the Part 135 Director of Maintenance Coordinate with and assist the Director of Supply Chain & Logistics to ensure that parts and material are available, as required, to meet established schedules Monitor the Outstanding Purchase Order and Repair Order files to ensure completion goals can be met Provide progress reports as deemed necessary but at least weekly, for each HMV, to the Part 135 Director of Maintenance or his/her designee Ensure the Part 135 Director of Maintenance or his/her designee is aware of all actual or potentially negative conditions that may affect the quality of work, the progress of work, the completion of work within established schedules, or the completion of work within established cost Performs other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES Effective oral and written communication skills Possess sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making Ability to maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships with internal and external customers Demonstrated leadership qualities and strong initiative Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products Extensive knowledge of all aircraft mechanical systems functions and interactions Thorough working knowledge of all current FAA regulations EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent Must possess a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant License Inspection Authorization is a plus FAR Part 135 experience is a plus Must possess a minimum of five (5) years turbine powered rotorcraft experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Walking, standing, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time Climbing heights on various equipment Lifting up to 50 or more pounds Must have sufficient vision and ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (High Visibility clothing, Ear protection, safety glasses) when required WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoor/Outdoor shop environment with potential extreme hot and cold temperatures Exposure to hazardous chemicals is possible Moderate to a loud noise level Driving company vehicle, personal vehicle for company use or other equipment STATUS & SCHEDULE Full-time Monday-Friday, 40+ hours per week Travel to various customer locations and Metro Headquarters - 10% travel *Metro Aviation does not have a Visa Sponsorship program at this time* Metro Aviation is committed to employees, customers, and the community to promote diversity and inclusion by developing policies, programs, and procedures that foster a work environment where differences are respected and employees are treated fairly.
