Scott Rotary Seals (SRS) of Olean, NY is looking to hire an experienced full-time CNC Machinist . This opportunity is for first shift . This is not a production line job! We are seeking a skilled Machinist who is interested in challenging short-run jobs (2-10 pieces) with both common and unique metals as well as complex part geometry. Does this sound interesting? If so, please read on! A Day in the Life of a CNC Machinist As a skilled CNC Machinist , you use your skills to accurately setup and operate state-of-the-art CNC machines such as a Haas Mill (VF5). You may also have the opportunity to setup and operate CNC lathes (Okuma LB 4000, Okuma LB25) You routinely use your expertise to select speeds, feeds and tooling for a range of custom operations and a variety of materials. You enjoy challenging multi-axis machining and complex part geometry. You read and interpret mechanical drawings and write/edit programs on the fly using G & M codes . You are also proficient in reading and interpreting GD&T blueprints and related technical documents. You are highly skilled in your trade and use your experience to troubleshoot non-confirming and unexpected results. Your past experience allows you to adjust programs and tooling as necessary. You enjoy training and offering your ideas on machining challenges and often share your expertise with others. You accurately perform in-process inspection on machined product using a variety of common and custom inspection equipment. You embrace technology and effectively use Excel and web-based project tracking software throughout your day. You know your way around other common office programs like Outlook email and Microsoft Word. You believe in 6S lean practices and keep your area clean and organized. You understand that cleanliness and organization contribute to safety, productivity and job satisfaction. You enjoy the benefits of working in a modern climate controlled facility and do your part to keep the facility in top condition. Qualifications for a CNC Machinist 3-7+ years of experience machining tight tolerance parts in a short run or job shop environment Ability to use computer systems for time-reporting and project tracking Experience with Okuma and/or Fanuc Controls is highly desired A high degree of mechanical aptitude A machining degree is helpful, especially if you are newer to the CNC Machining trade, but multiple factors will be considered.
