April 11, 2023 POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Senior Planner City of The Dalles Closing Date: Open until filled. First review May 8, 2023 DEFINITION: Performs advanced level professional planning work. This classification is distinguished from the Associate Planner in the level of responsibility assigned and coordination functions for the department. Work may involve coordinating the planning efforts of subordinate staff. (For a complete list of responsibilities see job description attached to the job announcement on the City web site) QUALIFICATIONS: Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be: Education: Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, architecture, landscape architecture, environmental design, law, public administration, or related field.and Experience : At least five (5) years of progressively responsible professional planning experience. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid driver's license. American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) designation is preferred. PAY: The wage range for this position will be increase July 1, 2023 to $77,984.74 - $95,911.40 annually, plus generous benefit package that includes medical, dental, vision and retirement contributions of 13.5% of base wage after one year of employment.
