DEPARTMENT: Department of Public Works RATE OF PAY: $18.00 EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: April 1, 2023 through June 30, 2023 Full-time No benefits SCHEDULE: Monday to FridayDay ShiftWeekend availability GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Department of Public Works Supervisor, seasonal operators are responsible for lawn maintenance of City properties. Performs all work in accordance with essential functions and responsibilities as described below. JOB DUTIES: Cut grass and trim lawns at all City facilities Removes unwanted weeds Picks up trash and empty trash receptacles Sweeps curbs, walks and parking lots Must be able to use equipment such as walking and riding mowers, push mowers, chain saws and a variety of powered and non-powered hand tools Perform all other assigned tasks as requested by Supervisor Attendance is a very essential function QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 18 years of age Must have a valid Michigan driver's license with a good driving record Must be able to pass a drug test and background check PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to work mainly outdoors in varying temperatures and inclement weather Must be able to exert and lift 20 to 50 pounds EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School diploma/GED required2 years of ground keeping/maintenance experience preferred CITY OF ECORSE IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER Job Posted by ApplicantPro
