Position Description The Process Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer works closely with a team of Process Engineers and Development Technicians to help create methods, procedures, and tools to help improve manufacturing efficiencies, decrease production costs, and eliminate variance. Qualifications Education/Certifications : B.S. in Engineering or Engineering Technology, preferably in Optical, Mechanical or Manufacturing. Associates degree with related experience considered. Skills, Knowledge and Experience : MS office software. CAD/CAM systems. Working knowledge/exposure to Lean Sis Sigma desired. Essential Functions Develop plans and make calculations for a variety of elements within an engineering project on his/her own or under the supervision of the Senior Engineer. Provide engineering support to manufacturing, quality, and sales. Create work instructions for newly developed/modified manufacturing processes. Work with a team of engineers to solve manufacturing and quality issues. Develop fixtures and tools required for new products, in conjunction with R&D product design requirements and performance specifications. Ability to read basic blueprints (optical drawings).
