The Night Shift Truss Plant Foreman is responsible for leading the nightly operations of a truss manufacturing plant to meet production goals, ensure key metrics are achieved, drive system wide improvements in production, safety, and quality, develops a culture of mutual respect and accountabilities that foster ownership of all activities, helps build a lean culture focused on continuous improvement, utilizing best practices and lean tools. Requires a heavy shop floor presence.RESPONSIBILITIES· Lead and manage to ensure safe, quality production of products for the customer, ensuring all plantpractices and procedures are followed.· Responsible for aspects of leading the team including coaching, managing performance and development planning.· Runs and coordinates night shift and all departments based on the production schedule, materialavailability.· Manage execution of daily management activities such as team meetings, shift exchanges, daily direction-setting, communication boards, etc.· Utilize Lean tools to drive process improvement strategies in plant manufacturing operations.· Delegation to supervision the management of employee compliance of work instructions, company policies, major/minor quality system and company programs, etc.· Enforces and keeps up to date the 5S LEAN housekeeping audit· Ensures that supervisors complete daily check list, disciplinary forms and other related matters in a timely approach as required. Reviews and maintains employee training program.· Any additional tasks as assigned. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS • Minimum 5 years manufacturing plant experience (Truss manufacturing preferred) with at least 4years supervising production employees.• Demonstrated leadership, communications, interpersonal skills (written and verbal)• Ability to deliver results through empowerment of people, change management and performancemanagement.• Hands on experience in lean manufacturing methods, problem solving, best practice productionsystems.• Self-motivated and leads by example, able to bring forth continuous improvement ideas andimplement them.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Able to endure working in a manufacturing environment with inside excessive hot and coldtemperatures, able to tolerate exposure to dust and noise for 10-hour shifts• Regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and occasionally will be required to stoop, kneel, lift ormove objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
