Skilled Laborers will work under the direct supervision of the jobsite foreman and superintendents.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. RESPONSIBILITIES & GENERAL JOB DUTIES: GPS knowledge with rover Understanding of grades and elevations Ability to set up a level and perform basic math calculations Basic understanding of plans and ability to execute directions accurately Working Environment and Conditions This position requires working in the internal and external environment. Will be exposed to all weather elements including heat and rain. This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends maybe required. 10 hour days are the norm. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is required to stand or sit for extended periods of time; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Must be able to wear mandatory Personal Protective Equipment including at a minimum: steel toed boots, safety vest, hard hat, eye protection, and hearing protection. Must possess knowledge of equipment and workplace safety. Must demonstrate skills in communications and teamwork. Must be able to lift, pull and manage heavy equipment and objects up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work outdoors in exposure to extreme heat and cold. Must be able to take company required precautions to be protected from irritants due to possible exposure to eye, nose and skin irritants Stress level may be increased due to schedule of work and demands of completing task safety and on time. Must be able to walk over uneven and broken ground. Must be able to operate heavy equipment in a safe manner. Attributes: Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects. Multilimb Coordination - The ability to coordinate two or more limbs (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while standing. It does involve performing the activities while the whole body is in motion. Arm-Hand Steadiness - The ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one position. Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects. Oral Comprehension - The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. T.E. Stevens is an equal opportunity employer.
