Together with our partner MCFA (Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift of America) we are successfully expanding our activities in the North American market. In our facility Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corp. located in Houston, Texas, we are working on the design/development of the next generation of electric driven warehouse products optimized for the North American market Objectives Offering counsel on a variety of legal issue, in particular corporate and product liability matters Providing legal advice to the company regarding all relevant business transactions of the Group including contract negotiations and coordination tasks in the context of M&A transactions Core responsibilities are drafting, reviewing, negotiating and executing agreements, such as sales contracts, nondisclosure agreements, non-compete agreements, cooperation and JV agreements as well as other legal documents for the company Advising on contract status, legal risks, and the legal liabilities associated with different deals Drafting and reviewing corporate bylaws Working with outside attorneys to prepare legal documents such as briefs, motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and subpoenas Conducting research on precedents and case law related to specific issues or industries to help attorneys develop legal strategies Researching existing laws and proposed legislation to track trends and identify issues that may impact the company's business Providing advice to management regarding compliance with federal and state laws Reviewing advertising and marketing materials to ensure that they are in compliance with legal requirements Working alongside other departments within the company Providing training to the company on legal topics. Skills Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization Strong negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships within the Group's legal department and across all businesses Very good self-organizational skills Aim to work focused and covering the details Excellent technical understanding of the B2B products of the Group Very good knowledge of computer programs (MS Office) Ability to understand Spanish documents would be beneficial. Education Must have a law degree from a recognized university Must be admitted to a recognized bar Work Experience Must have 3+ years of experience gained in large law firms and/or in-house with major company in relation to corporate and commercial matters as well as product liability cases. Commercial contracts (drafting, reviewing) Strong negotiator Corporate transactions (M&A, JVs, corporate housekeeping) Product liability experience in an industry environment. Location Houston, Texas Reporting Line The candidate will be employed by Jungheinrich's US organization but will be integrated into the Group Legal Department based in Germany receiving work instructions from there and reporting to the Group's General Counsel.
