Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM)/Systems Administrator

SURVICE Engineering has an immediate opening for an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) to work in the Aberdeen, MD area. The selected candidate will work to secure our client's information systems and their contents. The ISSM will design, develop, and recommend integrated security solutions for multiple classified systems. They will analyze and coordinate information assurance requirements for networked and standalone systems within environments of varying complexity levels. They will be responsible for creating and maintaining certification and accreditation documentation. The successful candidate will ensure system security measures comply with multiple regulatory requirements, including the Industrial Security Field Operations (ISFO) manual and the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), especially chapter 8, and accurately assess the impact of modifications, changes, and vulnerabilities for each system where needed. They will conduct reviews and technical inspections to identify and mitigate potential security weaknesses, and ensure that all security features applied to a system are implemented and functional.Required Skills:Have experience with supporting multiple types of computer hardware and operating systems (i.e. Window or Linux/Unix) in networked, peer-to-peer, and standalone environments.Be familiar with security features such as group policy and file system permissions.Be able to detect and discover potential vulnerabilities of various operating systems and hardware.Be capable of and familiar with auditing systems and performing basic system administration duties (e.g. administrator user passwords configure access controls and system privileges, etc.)Basic Qualifications:Ability to effectively manage and protect information systems in a cost-effective manner. Requires a BS in an Information Systems area or field or the equivalent, and a minimum of 10 to 15 years of related experience. Applicants with a Master's degree and 7 to 10 years of related experience also qualify.Experience working with federal Government regulations such as NISPOM, and/or DIACAP. Previous experience working in a classified information systems environment and working with classified processing requirements is required.Current verifiable certification that meets or exceeds the DoD Directive 8670.1 (i.e. Network+, Security+, CISSP) is required.DoD Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire.
