The Event Coordinator must be an enthusiastic, aggressive, and results driven, professional individual who possess the ability and passion for booking business.The Event Coordinator will be responsible for selling only off premise catering.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:OBTAINING NEW CLIENTS MAINTAINING EXISTING CLIENTSPROPOSALS AND CONTRACTSCOMMUNICATIONEVENT ATTENDANCEBILLINGOTHER TASKS AS ASSIGNEDREPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: This position reports directly to the Director of Sales & Marketing and interfaces regularly with other members of the management team, other internal staff departments and operating components providing and obtaining information required to ensure high quality end-result of sales.CANDIDATE PROFILE Experience and Personal Attributes• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; Hospitality or related industry preferred. 8+ years experience in high volume culinary sales will be an acceptable alternative to education.• MUST have the ability to work daily with the Microsoft Office Suite• MUST have 3+ years of successful catering sales experience• MUST have the ability to sell and service events from 8ppl-1,000ppl• MUST have the ability to up sell food and beverage beyond minimums• MUST have the ability to effectively communicate through the BEO process• MUST be able to manage a high level of files, operate high end events and actively pursue the rebooking of events• MUST have prior outside cold call and prospecting experience to ensure new business• MUST thrive on consistently exceeding guest expectations and have an uncompromising approach to service and follow through • MUST demonstrate a passion for the hospitality industry• MUST be able to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays• MUST have a very professional image and demeanorTHE IDEAL CANDIDATE:• Is highly experienced in Weddings, Social and Charity events• Has 3+ years experience selling high quality off premise catering• Considers themselves a 'Foodie' who has a passion for great food, great wine, and memorable service and can sell all of this to a client• Has the ability to be part of a team by working closely with the operations and culinary departments to maximize revenues• Has the ability to manage a large number of events and leads in a fast paced atmosphere while also up selling food and beverage to every event• Has the ability to actively solicit new business and close the deal• Has creative experience selling food and beverage• Has established connections and business leads in the Chicago market• Has knowledge of full bar and how to sell liquor and beer successfully• Has operational experience with Caterease Job Posted by ApplicantPro
