1:1 Part-time Support Staff Need - (JOB # AO-MG) Exceptional Family Resources is currently seeking an energetic, engaging Direct Support Professional to work with a young man in the Syracuse area. This position will require a support staff to assist this young man in getting out into the community to work on social interaction skills, special emphasis on identifying activities of interest, and independent living skills. This young man is looking for a support staff that will encourage him to go to the park and library as well as support his love of video games, movies, and WWE wrestling. This young man is also looking to identify activities that involve movement and/or dance and any potential staff would assist him in discovering these types of classes, events, or activities. This is a part-time position but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency. Starting pay : Starting pay is $17/hour and increases with years of relevant experience. Schedule: Monday & Wednesday 3:00pm-6:30pm Location: Syracuse, NY Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community. Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills. No experience required but experience working with people with disabilities preferred. New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required. Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community. All job offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check completed by Exceptional Family Resources (EFR). EOE EFR is a qualified employer in the New York State Health Care and Mental Hygiene Worker Bonus (HWB) Program. Employees who meet the minimum required hours may be eligible for up to two bonuses, with a total maximum payout of $3000.
