A Day in the Life of a Project Transportation Engineer You are at the forefront of brainstorming creative solutions for challenging projects. You lead, support, and participate an interdisciplinary team to help d eliver multimodal transportation projects in a wide range of contexts. You'll help lead the creation of signing and pavement marking plans, traffic maintenance plans, and traffic signal plans for roadway projects and streetscapes in highly urban settings. You will use programs such as Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, MicroStation, and AutoCAD to fulfill production work on your projects. You'll use state of the art tools and practices to help create sustainable multimodal transportation networks. You'll also have the opportunity to work on a wide spectrum of projects that inform your design work, including road diet feasibility analyses, multimodal traffic studies for new development, roundabout studies, trail/roadway intersection studies and designs, and parking studies and design guidance. You will share your knowledge with staff and clients, to develop feasibility studies, concept plans, and construction documents, as well as mentor your colleagues to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.    You participate in business development pursuits in your home region as well as across our North American offices. Qualifications of a Project Transportation Engineer : Bachelor's or master's degree in civil/transportation engineering Professional engineering license 6-10 years of relevant experience developing traffic engineering design plans and construction documents (signing and pavement markings, traffic maintenance, traffic signals) Experience serving in a project or design management role Experience in Complete Streets, bikeway, and crossing design Experience preparing transportation and local agency permit documents Experience developing conceptual designs for intersections and corridors Proficiency in one or more of the following: MicroStation InRoads, MicroStation OpenRoads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Synchro Highway Capacity Software, SIDRA, and VISSIM experience is a plus Understanding of basic geometric design principles of roadways and industry roadway design standards Understanding of MUTCD standards at the state and federal leve Experience developing construction documents and cost estimate Experience working on engineering projects for the Colorado Department of Transportation and the City and County of Denver is a plus Experience with operational analysis is a plus Exposure to construction management is a plus Spanish language skills are a plus You'll be great here if: You have strong leadership skills and enjoy participating in multi-disciplinary teams. We are targeting a salary range of $85,000 to $105,000 for this position. Work Schedule for a Project Transportation Engineer : This full-time position typically works a flexible schedule of 40 hours a week. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home up to 3 days per week. Our Denver team is a collaborative mix of staff that include civil engineers, transportation engineers, planners, IT support, and marketing staff who recently celebrated our 100th project win.
