BACKGROUND: Due to our rapid growth, our success is directly dependent on attracting and retaining the best possible talent across our teams. To this end, we are posting for a strong Engineering Technician/ Fabricator. This role will be based in our Norwood, MA manufacturing facility. OVERVIEW OF ROLE: We are looking for an individual with experience in the layout, fabrication, welding and fitting of conveyors, small platforms, and industrial machine modifications. Projects vary from small repairs, custom machine fabrication and the installation of production equipment. RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and interpret blueprints and sketches. Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform repairs as needed. Fitting, welding, measuring, laying out and inspecting parts. Cut, fabricate and tig weld stainless steel components. Verifying dimensions and product specifications. Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment. Ensure working environment is clean and safe. Follow companies GMP's. Ability to verify conformance of workpieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, calipers, and measuring tapes. Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers. Move parts into position, manually or with hoists or cranes QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 2 years' experience with Tig welding stainless steel Minimum 3 years' experience in metal fabrication Experience using milling machines and lathes is a plus Knowledge of OSHA rules, codes, and regulations; and occupational hazards and standard safety practices. Good Communication skills: ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications; and follow verbal and written instructions. Knowledge of methods, materials and equipment used in welding and fabrication. Safely operate associated hand and power tools such as saws, grinders measuring tools, etc. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Mechanical aptitude with proficient shop math skills. Applicants must be able to work overtime, and weekends as needed, Team player with positive attitude and focus on quality, efficiency, and safety, COMPETENCIES: (NOT POSTED ON WEBSITE) To perform the job successfully, the team member must demonstrate the following competencies: · Ability to learn to use the CMMS system. · Must have working knowledge of computers in a Windows environment including use of e-mail and similar technologies for communication and be adaptable to the use of portable technologies for the logging and tracking of work activities. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The below physical demands are representative of those that must be met by the team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. · Able to stand for prolonged periods of time · Regularly required to talk and hear · Must have good vision and manual dexterity · Ability to lift 75 pounds, · Ability to walk, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, twist, perform repetitive motions, see variations in color, climb and work from ladders.
