Serrano Country Club is seeking a high spirited, mature, well seasoned, service driven host/ hostess. Service is member driven and getting to know our members is our highest priority. The position is part-time and requires someone to have very flexible hours (weekends/holidays, a.m./p.m. etc.). The applicant should be self-motivated and take pride in their job responsibilities. Job duties include but are not limited to: Taking reservations/ to-go orders Returning calls Seating tables: managing floor plan Shopping for decorations for special events/flowers Decorating for special events Occasional bussing of tables Standing for long periods at a time Interviews will be scheduled with qualified candidates. A Food Handler Card will be required within 30 days of hire. Complimentary meal, golf privileges and service charges.Serrano Country Club Job Description Job Title: Host/Hostess Department: Food & Beverage Reports To: F&B Director and/or Supervisor FLSA Status: Non-exempt Prepared By: Human Resources Prepared Date: January 01, 2022 Approved By: General Manager/F&B Director Approved Date: January 01, 2022 SUMMARY Attends to members in private club by being the principle person responsible for coordinating restaurant reservations, greeting members by name, and escorting them to a selected table. Communicates and coordinates closely with the servers, kitchen, bartender, and busser personnel to assure that all members and their guest requests are met with 100% satisfaction, and that the guests dining meets and exceeds expectations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned whether or not in this job description, at any time, by the F&B Director or designee. Supports the goals and objectives of the Company and in accordance with the Company's commitment to Total Customer Satisfaction, must have professional, service oriented attitude at all times. Follows safe work practices at all times. Must adhere to schedule, report to work on time, well groomed and wearing a clean uniform. Takes reservations and checks table reservation schedules. Greets and seats members and guests. Ensures that all menus (Food menus, Wine Lists and Wines by the Glass) are clean and up to date. Communicate to appropriate Server or Manager on duty of any special requests or needs of the members or their guests for each shift. Assign server stations, ensure that all server bussers and bartenders are present. Inspects all dining rooms and lobby to ensure proper maintenance of a clean and orderly area. Ensures that the music is on and the levels are set in each room; checks the air conditioning and heating levels in all areas. Check that the blinds are set appropriately - pulls shades if the sun is disturbing a guest. Maintains hostess station in clean and orderly fashion. Enter daily specials into the POS system. Processes "To Go" orders (Take order on To Go form, Write up check, Submit order to kitchen, Assemble for pick up). SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : This job has no supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; Previous restaurant experience preferred. Must be able to speak in a clear and understandable voice so that various types of communications may be conducted with people of various levels of education and capabilities. The employee must be able to interact and communicate with all types of individuals and deal with difficult people and situations. Must have an outgoing personality; Possess excellent interpersonal, customer service and teamwork skills, maintain positive working relationships, promotes a cooperative, courteous, friendly, accommodating and respectful attitude towards members, guests, and colleagues. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with and solve problems involving several variables. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Valid California driver's license. PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee must be able to transport oneself throughout the project site including but not limited to the golf course, pro shop, restaurant/lounge, and other community areas. The work environment is often fast paced. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with fluorescent lighting to an outdoor setting with variable climate and lighting. Must be able to work in a well-lighted temperature controlled area sufficient in size to allow freedom of movement to accomplish tasks.
