** $7,500 sign-on bonus available for Night Shift position** General Information: Job title: Registered Nurse Department: Medical/Surgical Shift/Status Available: Full-time, Night shift; three, 12 hour shifts Night shift differential available Full-time, Day shift; three, 12 hour shifts Weekend Rotation: Every 4th weekend Weekend shift differential available Holiday Rotation: Rotating holidays Position Summary: Provides advanced nursing care for patients with acute conditions such as heart attacks, respiratory distress syndrome, or shock. May care for pre- and post-operative patients or perform advanced, invasive diagnostic or therapeutic procedures. Position Responsibilities: Performs emergency medical procedures, such as basic cardiac life support, advanced cardiac life support, and other condition stabilizing interventions. Documents data related to patient's care, including assessment results, interventions, medications, patient responses, or treatment changes. Manages patient's pain relief and sedation by providing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions, monitoring patient's responses, and changing care plan accordingly. Administers blood and blood product transfusions or intravenous infusions, monitoring patients for adverse reactions. Assesses urgent and emergent health conditions using both physiologically and technologically derived data. Orders, performs, or interprets the results of diagnostic tests and screening procedures based on assessment results, differential diagnoses, and knowledge about age, gender, and health status of clients. Interprets information obtained from electrocardiograms (EKGs) or radiographs (X rays) Sets up, operates, or monitors invasive equipment and devices including but not limited to colostomy or tracheotomy equipment, catheters, gastrointestinal tubes, and central lines. Diagnoses acute or chronic conditions that could result in rapid physiological deterioration or life-threatening instability. Discusses illnesses and treatments with patients and family members. Other duties as required within scope of practice. Position Requirements: Minimum Education: Associates, bachelor's (preferred) in nursing or a diploma in nursing Current, or ability to obtain Wisconsin Registered Nurse License. RNs with an active Compact Licensure to obtain a Wisconsin RN License within 90 days of relocating to Wisconsin. Required Skills: AHA BLS within 1 month of hire AHA ACLS within 2 years of hire AHA PALS encourages within 2 years of hire Ability to create a caring, compassionate relationship with patient and the family. Ability to collaborate with the healthcare team to use evidence-based practice in providing care Strong skills to manage, coordinate, and evaluate the care and education of the patient and family along the healthcare process.
