Join our HR Team! We are a nonprofit organization that serves those in need of vital services such as housing, rental assistance, sheltering, Head Start childcare, in-home day care providers, energy assistance, weatherization and more. The HR Team is looking for a HR Analyst that works closely with the HR Team in supporting all programs and administration. This role will conduct analysis in reviewing workplace issues and systems. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: complaints and investigations, systems, performance management, retention initiatives, data and policy interpretation, and application of employment regulations. This role is hybrid remote work from home and on-site (50/50). This position is for 32 hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree with 3-5 years of progressive HR related experience. Strong knowledge of employment standards, investigations, DEI practices, and performance management. Academic coursework and training related to these areas, a Master's Degree in HR may substitute for up to 2 years of work, volunteer or military experience. SHRM-CP or PHR Certification preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Position requires solid oral and written communication skills individually, and with small and large groups; plus, intermediate level computer and technical skills, including MS Office, databases, and video conferencing. Skilled in managing accountability for work from home activities. Ability to develop trust, credibility and confidence with staff. Demonstrated ability to work through conflict and develop solutions, monitor performance plans, set goals and prescribe training and coaching for supervisors. Skills in personnel analysis using cultural and diversity competencies. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS Valid driver license and insured vehicle available for use on the job; satisfactory driving record for previous three years; or an equivalent approved alternative. Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment. Successful registration with the Child Care Division's Central Criminal Background Registry is required. This position is subject to MWVCAA's COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and other management as required. Uses communication channels to inform and connect with agency staff at all levels. Develops a thorough understanding of culture in programs and administration. Reviews policies in depth. Focuses on projects that require fact-finding, objective interviewing, and understanding timelines of events. Writes reports on personnel investigation findings, and recommends action. Follows up on staff conflicts to identify and work through solutions. Reviews corrective action documents. Identifies areas of development for staff that may need additional training, education or mentoring. Reviews, monitors, and analyzes agency hiring demographic information and exit data. Works with HR Management and DEI Specialist to review retention strategies. Works with HR Team to support the New Staff Orientation program, including scheduling, invitations, presentations, and documentation. Identifies areas to develop onboarding programming. Partners with HR Team for various compliance audits including FLSA, OSHA, Immigration, BOLI, Financial, and similar. Follows all agency policies and procedures; as well as leadership organizational structure. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES There are no direct supervisory duties in this position. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus; hearing abilities required. Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity for handling office equipment, documents and phone. Able to be mobile within offices and between sites. May require use of headset and video for phone work. Occasional driving may be required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Indoor, office work environment with frequent interruptions and demands. Working with coworkers/clients over the phone, via video conferencing and in-person. In-person exposure to staff, members of the public at meetings and in facilities. Masks are optional. Occasional noise and distractions in work spaces.
