Status: Full-time, exempt Schedule: Normal office hours are 37.5 hours per week, M-F, 8.30a.m. - 4.30p.m, with a 30-minute lunch break. This is an exempt position that may be required to work beyond core office hours and travel approximately up to 20% based on the needs of the position and the organization. Summary of position: The Customized & Faculty-Led Programs team works with universities, colleges, and other academically focused institutions as well as IES Abroad Overseas Centers to develop and implement high quality, specialized (usually faculty-led and/or short-term) study abroad programs. The Customized Program Manager (CPM) is charged with growing and maintaining school relationships and then soliciting, conceptualizing, and negotiating customized programs. The CPM manages each program within a portfolio from idea to proposal to closure. The CPM champions customized programming within IES Abroad by maintaining productive relationships across departmental lines. This position is eligible for incentive pay. Job responsibilities: Collaborate with faculty leaders and overseas IES Abroad Centers to develop and operate unique programs to over 30 destinations around the globe. Manage a portfolio of IES Abroad Customized Programs from start to finish including program development, operation, and evaluation. Serve as a primary contact for clients within specific geographic region on all matters related to customized programs. Review and evaluate partner requests and cultivate contracts, as well as contract changes. Bring special requests to the attention of senior leadership. Develop and deliver timely and accurate contracts for clients, utilizing internal systems, templates and CRM software Draft, revise, and update program proposals and pricing costs. Negotiate to arrive at contractual agreements. Accurately manage contract execution. Assess contracts for completeness and accuracy; correct documents and file changes to contracts as needed. Confirm accurate descriptions of deliverables in contracts. Commit to and demonstrate values and promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. Work with the domestic and international IES Abroad staff to manage and trouble-shoot challenges and provide creative solutions to complex programming requirements, including unforeseen changes to costs/pricing, etc. Any other task or duty as assigned or required. Experience & Qualifications/Skills: At least 3 years related experience working with faculty, administrators, or customers in program development, program management, sales, negotiation, customer relations, and/or recruiting. At least 3 years related experience working with one or more of the following: study abroad, tour operator, travel agency, and/or sales. Successful track record in client management, recruiting or study abroad programming in which goals were consistently met and/or exceeded. Talent for organizing and prioritizing multiple priorities and projects in fast-paced environment, including excellent follow-up and attention to detail. Dedication to providing high-quality client services with a high level of enthusiasm, energy, and flexibility. Ability to demonstrate values and promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism. Strong data management skills with experience using budgeting tools, Microsoft Office, CRM, and databases. Proven ability to negotiate and close transactions. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ease in interacting with various constituents and ability to make effective presentations. Experience in developing new programs. Skilled in handling stressful situations, e.g., advising anxious program leaders and/or faculty. Education: Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
