Description Position Details : Clinical Nurse Manager, Full-time or greater to fill job duties, hours vary, call required. Salaried, Exempt; Non-Union, Benefited position after 500-hour introductory period in met. Position Summary : The primary objective of this position is to coordinate the delivery of high quality patient care, enhance acute nursing staff performance, promote staff competency and ultimately patient satisfaction. This includes, but is not limited to, the direct supervision of Acute staff, promotion of quality improvement and patient safety programs, nursing and patient education activities and competency checks. Additional duties may include providing evaluations for Acute staff, writing and updating policies and procedures, and coordination of staffing and scheduling of acute care nursing staff and providing nursing management call/coverage in rotation with other nurse management staff. Requirements Education : Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree or above preferred. Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Oregon. Licensure/Certification/Registration : Current RN license from the Oregon State Board of Nursing. Current BLS certification. Current CPR, ACLS, NRP, ENPC and TNCC certification. Must be OB and ED in house certified, or able to obtain within 12 months of start date. ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification, and ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as soon as available after hire. Experience : Three (3) or more years of Acute Care Nursing experience required. One (1) or more years of clinical supervisory experience preferred. Job Knowledge : Responsible to understand and capable of implementing duties within the scope of rules and regulations of the Oregon State Board of Nursing and the Nurse Practice Act. Skills : Ability to function calmly and effectively in stressful situations. Act as a resource to nursing staff. Communicate effectively with patient families, medical staff, nursing staff, other hospital departments, and community agencies. Demonstrate a positive and compassionate attitude toward patients and their families. Act as role model for nursing staff. Maintain patient and staff confidentiality. Maintain open and effective communications with management, nursing staff, physicians, and other hospital departments. Function as a supportive member of the patient care/management team.
