Description Position Details : Speech Language Pathologist, Full-time, 40 hrs/week, Monday-Friday Non-Exempt, Hourly Benefited position after 500 hour introductory period in met. Position Summary: Provide speech therapy services to acute care, rehabilitation, and outpatients in compliance with policies and procedures established by LHD rehabilitation services department. Provide quality care to individuals and families, and participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of quality assurance programs. In addition, pediatric school-based services will be provided part-time throughout the school year making a positive impact on the children in the community. Requirements Education : Graduate of a school of speech/language pathology (MS or MA.) Licensure/Certification/Registration : Certificate of Clinical competence from the American Speech- Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements required. American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP.) Experience : One year of experience with swallowing disorders OR extensive dysphagia management experience within internship/externship program. Job Knowledge: Must have training and knowledge in prevention; screening, evaluation, and assessment; planning, implementing, and monitoring intervention; consultation with and education for team members, including families and other professional; service coordination; transition planning; advocacy, awareness and advancement of the knowledge base in early intervention, to treat, and help to prevent communication and swallowing disorders in patients. Skills : Must work with people in a tactful, diplomatic and professional manner. Must be able to remain pleasant and patient, and have good communication skills. Highly organized while working and maintains a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
