Behavioral Health Manager Under the general direction of the Behavioral Health Director, the Behavioral Health Manager is responsible for supervising behavioral clinical staff i n th e delivery of behavioral health, case management, and substance abuse treatment. The Behavioral Health Manager provides fifty percent clinical and fifty percent administrative supervision to assigned staff , oversees services provided and grant management requirements within certain behavioral health grant programs, responsible for implementation and oversight of policies and procedures, and quality assurance. Core Duties P lans, organizes, directs and manages assigned program areas and patient services within the Behavioral Health Department. Provides assessment and care management services; behavioral health care planning in relation to behavioral/psychiatric health problems, including revision for patients who are not progressing or whose status changes; provision of brief psychosocial interventions; ongoing collaboration with the billing practitioner; collaboration with the psychiatric consultant. Available to provide services face-to-face with the patient; has a continuous relationship with the patient, has a continuous relationship with the patient and a collaborative, integrated relationship with the rest of the care team. Works with the patient to develop a plan for provision and services. Collaborates with physicians, nurses , case managers, therapists and/or psychiatrist regarding patient needs and problems. Participates in integrated system of care, staff meetings, case review, consultation/supervision sessions and other forums as required. Conducts all work within generally accepted standards and ethical guidelines. Seeks out guidance from Behavioral Health Director/Clinical Supervisor/Medical Leadership where questions or concerns may arise Supervises assigned staff, allocates caseloads, and coordinates the activities of staff in providing mental health therapy and substance abuse treatment services to assist patients; This includes supporting staff with assessments, crisis intervention, treatment plans, groups, and case management services to increase medical adherence. Participates with Director of Behavioral Health in planning, implementation, and on-going evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of patient care and support services. Utilizes behavioral techniques in emergency situations, to prevent injury to patients, staff and others. Leads in the training and oversight of clinic crisis response team. Facilitates weekly inter-disciplinary conferences, presenting and discussing patient cases related to use of controlled substances. Ensures that the patients' records are maintained in keeping with professional standards of practice and in compliance with chart documentation and billing requirements through monthly chart reviews Establish and maintain effective collaborative relationships with other clinical and administrative managers for the purposes of promoting and supportive high-quality integrated patient care. Communicates with others throughout the organization and community, providing referrals where appropriate, to facilitate and encourage coordination in patient care. Additional Duties Trains new employees in areas, such as policies and procedures, reporting requirements and other guidelines. Participates in continuous quality improvement activities. Complies with One Community Health confidentiality and non-disclosure policy. Report fraud, waste, and abuse and PHI disclosures Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position provides oversight of assigned staff in Behavioral Health department to include administrative supervision such as writing staff reviews, annual goals, document training plans, and managing time and attendance. Education/Experience Required: A designated individual with formal education or specialized training in behavioral health , working under the oversight and direction of the Behavioral Health Director. Leadership role experience, minimum 2 years, 4preferred. The Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required for licensed providers working in the primary care setting.
