The Engineering Manager will help Woodsage plan, direct, and coordinate activities of Engineering Department to design, process, develop, produce, improve, and test components, products, systems, and services, while achieving optimum use of workers, equipment, materials, and facilities. The Engineering Manager responsibilities include, but may not be limited to, Analyzes technology, resource needs, and market demand to plan and assess the feasibility of projects. Direct and manage engineering projects, quality enhancement engineering projects, product development and design engineering projects. Manages development of material selection and standards. Recommends and implements new policies and procedures as directed. Trouble-shoot production problems as required. Administer and manage personnel functions of the engineering staff, tool and die technicians, control center technicians, CNC techs/operators, maintenance staff. Including, recruiting, hiring, training, review/approval of job descriptions, selection/placement of personnel and performance evaluations. Ensures compliance of company policies, procedures/objectives regarding processes, initiatives and projects. Plans and establishes engineering quoting metrics and follows up on performance against standards. Manage staff for timely responses to RFQs. Lead and conduct weekly engineering meetings to ensure department and staff alignment. With management team, develop annual Cap Ex program for the company. Initiates cost reduction proposals, compiles appropriate information, makes recommendations for action and checks on results obtained. Manage and/or assist in plant refurbishment and expansion projects. Routinely review technological advances found in the marketplace that may be used to improve safety, quality, and production efficiencies. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications and Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Strong managerial experience in a manufacturing setting Knowledge or training in environmental and safety rules and regulations Quality Management Systems training (e.g., ISO 9000, QS 9000) Physical Demands Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling (Frequently) Lifting, Carrying up to fifty (50) pounds (Occasionally) Temperatures (Occasionally) Job Posted by ApplicantPro
