Position Summary: Seeking driven individual with ambition for technical challenges and career growth opportunities in a diverse product equipment manufacturing company. This position will be responsible for managing a team of designers with a focus on engineered to order Industrial Dryer and Lithium-Ion Battery coating line equipment. The Mechanical Design Manager will drive industry best practices for product data management processes and the application of Design for Manufacture and Assembly principles. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Lead a mechanical design team to execute projects on time and within the estimated budget hours. Contribute to the pre-sales process by proving project design hour estimates Establish and maintain project schedules for completing mechanical drawing releases to manufacturing. Provide design oversight and checking of critical assemblies using DFMA principals. Work with Product Managers and design resources to maintain product line standard models. Collaborate internationally to share and develop best practices as part of a global company. Identify process improvement opportunities to shorten lead times and reduce error rates. Coordinate the utilization of design resources within the Durr Engineering Center in Pune, India. Serve as a primary contact for the Project Management, Manufacturing, and Installation teams to ensure design issues are driven to root cause and countermeasures implemented. Qualifications Bachelor's degree with 5+ years engineering experience or previous Design supervisory experience. Proven track record as a leader. Experience with sheet metal, welding and manufacturing processes. Experiance in high tolerance machining component design Significant experience with 2D and 3D software. Expert knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP. Must have a good understanding of the principles of fluid flow, heat transfer, and structural design. Experience in interacting with equipment in manufacturing setting or at jobs sites. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
