Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking applicants to fill an adjunct teaching position for two sections of the same course for the upcoming academic year (Spring 2023: January 9 - May 6). Applicants will be considered who are able to teach Introduction into Communication Studies. Currently, the department has a need for 2 sections in the Spring, with the potential to continue the following academic year. COMM-1250 INTRO TO COMM STUDIES - Spring 2023 schedule is for Monday-Wednesday-Friday with one section from 12:40 - 1:50pm and a second section from 2:00 - 3:10pm. This course is designed to help students develop the skills necessary to effectively communicate in public, private and professional settings. The course will focus on a broad base of communication theory, concepts, and skills and offer students the opportunity to apply those skills. Students will explore several modes of communication, including persuasive and invitational speaking, dialogue, and interpersonal communication. Students will explore the foundations of the communication discipline and consider the importance of communication for our personal, professional, and civic lives.
