Assistant Library Director

Description:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the administration and supervision of the operations of the library system, including the development of policy, supervision of personnel, planning and organization of services to the public and development of administrative procedures. Work requires considerable independent judgment within the scope of established goals, policies and regulations. This class works under the general direction of the Director Library and is reviewed through conferences, reports and evaluation of results obtained. Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited university or college; supplemented by four (4) years previous experience involving responsible professional library work, with extensive supervisory experience. Requires knowledge of professional library principles, practices and techniques, current literature, trends and developments in the field of library science appropriate to the area of assignment. This position requires successful passing of a background check and drug screening . All applicants must upload an educational diploma/degree and a valid State of Florida Driver's License to the document section of the online application.
