Lead Challenge Course Instructor (Summer Position)

POSITION SUMMARY: To provide challenge course programming in a manner consistent to State of Michigan Licensing Rules, company guidelines, Safety Activity Checkpoints, Policies and Procedures. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Must be at least 21 years of age with current instructor certification from a nationally recognized ACCT accreditation provider or experience in Challenge Courses and able to attend training. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Be able to evaluate challenge course skills at all levels and teach lessons. Good judgment in anticipating and preventing accidents. Be able to act calmly, quickly, and give and/or follow directions during an emergency. Previous experience in a management or supervisory position. Experience in teaching youth activities is required. Knowledge of safety practices as applicable. Must be ready and able to communicate well with girls and staff and be flexible about programming options. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Become a registered member of Girl Scouts of USA Hold the minimum certification of CPR and First Aid EQUIPMENT USED: Harnesses, helmets, ropes, belay systems, ladders. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/DEMANDS: Sitting, standing, climbing, walking, reaching, reading, operating equipment (listed above), counting, writing, typing. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. WORK CONDITIONS: Activities occur both in an indoor and outdoor environment.
