Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Architectural Historian Intern to be based out of our Sacramento office. Under the direction of the Architectural History Program Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Cultural Resources Group with all aspects of project execution, including conducting historic resources surveys and archival research, historic resource evaluations, assisting in the development of historic context statements and preparing historic resources technical reports. This internship is part-time and the hours weekly will be determined between Rincon and the selected candidate. Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct field surveys and archival research Prepare California Department of Parks and Recreation 523 forms Assist in developing historic evaluations for compliance with NEPA, Section 106 and CEQA Assist in the implementation of historic mitigation Work in multidisciplinary teams for successful project execution Other duties as required by cultural resources leaders This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following: Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s program in history, art history, public history or closely related field; Masters preferred Strong research and writing skills Familiarity with CEQA and NEPA and Section 106 of the NHPA Experience or training conducting historic evaluations in accordance with national, state and local criteria Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint) Detail-oriented, resourceful, strong time management skills, and innovative Ability to work independently and as part of a team Rincon Consultants, Inc. is an award-winning leader in providing quality environmental consulting services throughout California and is recognized as a ‘Best Environmental Services Firm to Work For’ by the Zweig Group. At Rincon, our salary ranges are based on market median of similar jobs, according to third party salary benchmark surveys.
