About the Job: The Pest Control Technician reports to VP of Capital Improvements and Maintenance and manages all aspects of our mobile heat treatments and unit dry outs. Primary responsibilities include working directly with the Capital Improvements Director, Project Manager, and the Community Manager to exterminate bed bug infestations from residents personal and household items as well as initiate drying procedures during water intrusion events at NCRC and other third party affected communities. RESPONSIBILITIES Inspection of apartment unit with resident and perform pre-walk/acceptance walk. Determine scope of work and pre-existing conditions with onsite management. Perform visual inspection of the resident's items for water damage and/or ensure there is no pest activity. Unload electric heating equipment from trailer and transport to unit. Shift targeted items during heat treatment for efficiency. Extract any standing water in and around adjacent units. Dry out the structure of the area using air movers, heaters, and dehumidifiers. Accept and carry out responsibility for direction, control, and planning. Provide written reporting and scheduling updates with necessary parties. Evaluate situations and render pro-active decisions on certain issues without immediate supervision. Maintain a safe and compliant work site daily. Relate favorably with others beyond giving and receiving instructions; performs work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading, or speaking with others and responding appropriately. Daily check in with Community Manager and onsite maintenance when onsite. Must attend company sponsored events that relate to the development of the team, which, from time to time, may include overnight stays at locations away from the employees home. Must be able to work overtime when necessary or required. Maintain a clean and professional appearance while on-site and between the hours of 8-5. Safety Abide by California Health Requirements & National Cores Safety Protocol. Inspect equipment being used relative to safety standards. Maintain clean and professional jobsite. Always wear and maintain proper PPE. EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION 2+ years of experience in water intrusion loss Must be very knowledgeable about bed bug treatment and be up to date with current industrial practice such as certificates, innovative how-to trainings. Be proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, and Project software Excellent written and verbal communication. Demonstrate a professional demeanor. Higher education or technical training a plus. Must meet the requirements to drive a corporate issued vehicle Must be able to hook, un-hook and back up a 12-foot enclosed trailer. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Lift and carry 50+ pounds.
