Description: Landing Gear Design Engineer needed for a dynamic engineering team who is looking to disrupt the aviation industry. This is a direct placement opportunity in Long Beach, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience designing critical aircraft systems, landing gear systems, fuel systems, or hydraulic systems.As a Landing Gear Design Engineer you will: * Use mechanical engineering fundamentals, analysis, and design software to create complete mechanical design concepts for robust, low-risk, and cost-efficient designs that will complete the project scope within the budget and schedule. * Detail design of landing gear components and airframe interfaces, in close coordination with various departments. * Identify areas of risk and work quickly to develop prototypes and test methods to mitigate risk. * Know and understand the project scope, specifications, and any regulatory requirements that are applicable to the components being developed. * Participate in integration and coordination activities with various departments, suppliers and the certification authorities. * Complete additional analysis as required to ensure the design will meet all project and production requirements. * Design and coordinate the build of an Iron Bird lab to test the landing gear systems, in close coordination with various departments.Generate the following: * CAD Solid Models * Engineering drawings and design specifications * System and equipment test plans and reports * Compliance documentation * Support the fabrication and assembly processes for the project as required. * Provide frequent communication to Project Manager regarding project execution status, schedule and financial status, and scope changes.Experience * Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering from an accredited university. * Minimum 5 years in experience in system development of Part 25 landing gear systems, hydraulic systems, or other critical aircraft systems. * Extremely strong mechanical aptitude and ability to conceptualize and create mechanical designs. * Proficiency in using solid modeling CAD design software (Siemens NX highly preferred).Benefits: * Unlimited PTO * 10 paid holidays * 401(k) * Medical, Dental, Life health insurance * Disability Insurance * Life Insurance * Equity tax advisory services * Supportive work cultureSalary Range: $160,000 - $175,000*Salary range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc. Qualified candidates should APPLY NOW for immediate consideration!
