GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. These responsibilities include but not limited to lighting, power, HVAC motors and motor controls, and other duties as assigned. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: Installation and maintenance of switches, breakers, panels, receptacles, lighting fixtures, dimmer system and other electrical apparatusTrouble-shoot electrical shorts, motors, and motor controlsPipe bending and installing EMT, conduit, wire mold and BXMaintain and clean electrical rooms, service rooms and shopOther related duties REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Knowledge of and experience with hand and power tools, pipe bending, and circuitryBasic knowledge of national and New York City electrical codesMinimum 3 years of work experience with a licensed electrical contractorWork safely on ladders and scissor lifts, and the ability to work in high places KNOWLEDGE & EDUCATION: High school diplomaor trade school diploma, or GEDKnowledge of national and New York City electrical codeKnowledge of Ohm's law and basic electrical circuitry COMPENSATION RANGE: Pay Rate: $24.41058/hourThe advertised starting salary rate reflects the good faith minimum and maximum hourly rate for this role. Starting salary rates are set in accordance with established union rates provided by the economic agreement as established and negotiated by DC 37 and the City of New York, Office of Labor Relations. * Incumbent rates may vary depending on an individual employee's seniority status, and/or based on terms as provided by the DC 37 Local 1503 and Museum collective bargaining agreement.
