Lewis Davey are seeking an Energy and Carbon Manager for the leading group of girls' schools in the UK, with over 4,000 staff, and 19,000 students between the ages of three and 18. As a charity that owns and runs a network of 23 independent schools and two academies in England and Wales, it reinvests all its income in its schools. The successful candidate will help propel sustainability initiatives, underpinned with and guided by, appropriate technical and analytical expertise. Sitting within the Estates Department of the Trust Office. They will report directly to the Head of Infrastructure and Sustainability, and will act as the lead technical expert for all energy management and estate decarbonisation related issues across the Trust's portfolio. They will be central to the delivery of the Trust's wider sustainability strategy and will help shape, evolve and future proof it, as the Trust moves closer to a Net Zero target. The Energy and Carbon Manager will report to and work closely with the Head of Infrastructure and Sustainability to help design and deliver decarbonisation initiatives across the Estate. They will be working to deliver the ambition of a Net Zero target for the Estate and will be relied upon to offer technical expertise, analysis, oversight, and support across several ongoing projects. They will be critical in shaping and future-proofing the decarbonisation strategy of the Estate and will be driven and passionate about sustainability. The role will offer exciting opportunities to help shape the sustainability strategy with the charity, working cross-departmentally, for example on projects that will bridge energy management and education initiatives. Key responsibilities will include: • Take a leading role in the energy management for the Estate portfolio and Energy Sparks (current energy management tool) with the ambition to reduce energy consumption and improve the efficiency of the Estate• Liaise and support schools with shaping.
