JOB TITLE: Director of Finance and HR Analytics EMPLOYER: A-CAP Services LLC DEPARTMENT: Finance REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer LOCATION : Onsite in Miami, FL (Brickell) ABOUT THE COMPANY A-CAP is a rapidly growing organization that owns and operates multiple insurance companies and ancillary insurance businesses and has over $10 billion of total invested assets. This opening is with the holding company, which primarily performs asset management, actuarial, accounting, and other oversight functions on behalf of A-CAP’s insurers and third-party clients. This group also provides strategic and operational support to A-CAP’s portfolio companies/subsidiaries, proactively formulates new investment strategies, oversees external financing and acquisition activities, and provides modeling support for insurer liabilities and capital. On the insurance product side, A-CAP’s primary lines of business are traditional fixed and equity-indexed annuities, with additional business in whole life insurance, Medicare supplement, and hospital indemnity products. A-CAP insurers originate over $2 billion of new premium annually. ABOUT THE ROLE ACAP is seeking an experienced individual to assist in the development and build out of the analytical environment for the Finance and HR functions. A successful candidate must have extensive experience in the Insurance or Financial Services industries with the ability to lead, drive change and run by a Finance minded individual with technical capabilities. In this newly created role, the Director of Finance and HR Analytics will provide a standard and consistent reporting environment to areas within Finance and HR as well as stakeholders vastly increasing current capabilities while limiting costs and needs from IT. The Director of Finance and HR Analytics will be responsible for delivering the Businesses and Finance teams with automated capabilities we currently don’t have today. This will be done via Business Intelligence software (Tableau) while ensuring published data is controlled and agrees to the firm’s books and records. WHAT YOU WILL DO: Strategic partner to the Finance, HR and IT functions acting as thought partner and improving financial transparency by developing automated capabilities Establish Finance and HR controlled data points and ensure all areas across the organization are using consistent and approved financial data Perform as a data steward and assist in transforming standard/non-standard data into meaning information for better decision making Responsible in enhancing all aspects of standard financial reporting throughout Finance and HR departments Partner with businesses to establish Key Performance Indictor (KPI) dashboards/scorecards Work closely with the senior leadership team to deliver reporting and analytics so that business leaders can make better and sound decisions Responsible for coordinating across the Finance function to ensure the integrity of data Develop dashboards, metrics, or insights and identify trends or anomalies Support and assist with implementation, maintenance, and review of the data into Castle (ACAP’s enterprise data hub) Gather and analyze client requirements, analyze business processes, and assist stakeholder interviews through storyboarding, workshops, or persona journey maps Analyze and evaluate end user’s reporting needs and translate business requirements into detailed technical design and programming specifications Exhibit strong leadership traits, initiative, communication skills, and provide reporting expertise WHAT YOU WILL NEED: Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, MIS or Data Science, MBA preferred Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience, including reinsurance, insurance, financial services, M&A, and valuation / financial reporting Minimum of 5+ years leading reporting team/Center of Excellence team. Experience running offshore (cost saving) team is desired Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to review detailed financial information and consolidate into a management-level story Effective influencer and thought leader to help drive key business decisions and initiatives by partnering closely across teams and functions Entrepreneurial spirit, self-reliant and able to motivate others Track record of success in managing and developing a team Resourcefulness in obtaining data when clean and or complete information is not available Ability to conceptualize and analyze both problems and solutions and to effectively use a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks, and perspectives when solving problems High energy with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure Ability to learn quickly and work independently as well as being a team player Drive, enthusiasm, creativity, and excellent interpersonal skills Personal integrity, initiative, and leadership qualities Experience in project management and change management projects Knowledge and interest of modern IT architecture and deployment (e.g., REST, databases, APIs, containers, workflows) BENEFITS: A-CAP works hard to create a positive and supportive environment.
