Job Posting Title:Reading Interventionist----Hiring Department:Special Education----Position Open To:All Applicants----Weekly Scheduled Hours:19----FLSA Status:Non-Exempt----Earliest Start Date:Aug 14, 2023----Position Duration:Expected to Continue Until May 17, 2024----Location:UT MAIN CAMPUS----Job Details:PurposeThe position of Reading Interventionist is responsible for serving as a reading intervention teacher for elementary-age students for a federally funded research project in the Meadows Center for Preventing Educational Risk at The University of Texas at Austin. This position includes teaching daily reading intervention to students using a structured reading program, periodic assessment of student progress, and planning for differentiation of instruction. Reading intervention will be delivered daily to students in Buda, TX and Elgin, TX. Will work no more than 19 hours a week.Responsibilities Teach daily reading intervention to small groups of students using a structured reading program with high fidelity and quality Plan for differentiation of instruction Administer formative assessments to students Document student attendance and behavior Attend team meetings and maintain communication with project coordinatorsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree with at least one year of prior experience working with children. Daily access to transportation to schools in Buda, TX or Elgin, TX. Daily availability during regular school hoursRelevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.Preferred QualificationsPrior experience teaching reading/ELA in K-12 setting Teacher certification. Master's or Doctorate degree.
