The Center for Immuno-Oncology (CIO) at Dana-Farber is seeking a Scientist to contribute to the development of immunophenotyping assays using mass and spectral flow cytometry, and proteomics assays for cytokine detection, to comprehensively characterize human immune responses to cancer treatment.The CIO is multi-disciplinary group that includes investigators in basic and clinical research and is dedicated to the discovery, development, and application of novel diagnostics and therapies in cancer immunology.The Scientist will have the opportunity to contribute to high-impact publications and mentor junior Technicians. They will also have the privilege of closely partnering with departmental leadership while collaborating cross-functionally.The Scientist should be comfortable working independently and collaboratively while exhibiting strong time & project management skills. Experience with the laboratory techniques used to study whole blood and PBMC samples such as mass or spectral flow cytometry, OLINK/Luminex-based cytokine detection and gene expression profiling is required. Responsibilities Perform detailed immune monitoring of patient samples using mass cytometry Independently perform core immunological cell-based assays including mass and spectral flow cytometry and proteomics-based cytokine analysis (Luminex, OLINK) Lead mass and spectral flow cytometry assay development, optimization and analysis Collaborate with internal research groups and external teams Interact technically and intellectually with bioinformatic scientists Independently present research results within the team and across larger research and company-wide setting Review and prepare data to present at weekly and monthly CIO group meetings Contribute to high-impact publications Train and supervise research associates to accomplish goals within timelines Maintain a high standard of experimentation and record keeping Qualifications PhD in human immunology or immuno-oncology is required Deep knowledge of human immunology including T, B, NK and gdTcell biology Solid track record of independent research accomplishments in IO or related discipline, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals Expertise in evaluating data in multi-parameter flow cytometry and phenotyping of human immune system Proven hands-on experience in Flow Cytometry execution, troubleshooting and analysis Working knowledge of OLINK/Luminex/Elisa assays is highly desirable Experience in handling patient samples gained through work experience Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines Excellent interpersonal and task management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills and willingness to collaborate cross-departmentally requiredAt Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, we work every day to create an innovative, caring, and inclusive environment where every patient, family, and staff member feels they belong.
