MANUAL Machinist - 1st and 2nd Shift

This is NOT a CNC position SECOND Shift - Monday - Thursday 10 hours/day 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM Conventional Manual Lathe, Manual Mill and ID/OD Grinding ONLY This is for local applicants only. No one from out of state - no relocation package - must be within 20 miles of Van Nuys (91406)! Job Responsibilities: Machining various steel and aluminum aircraft parts on manual lathes, mills, ID/OD grinders, and other manual machining equipment.Holding tight tolerances (+/- .0005).Low production, prototype environment, strong attention to details.Read and interpret shop routings / travelers, and interpret engineering drawings. Requirements: High Energy with a positive attitude (self starter)5+ years minimum experienceProficient on manual lathes and manual mills.Holding tight tolerances (+/- .0005).Skilled with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).Effectively communicate in English; written, reading, and verbal skills.Flexible, eager to learn and willing to be crossed trained.We are looking for a Team player that can be possibly be groomed for a lead position. Education and/or Experience: High School Graduate or GED.Exposed to manufacturing/machine shop / Aviation environments. Equipment Used: Basic hand tools, precision measuring instruments, and tooling. CMM, hydraulic and/or mechanical manufacturing equipment, various types of grinders, sanders, mills, lathes, hand air tools, misc. measuring equipment, personal safety devices.
