Responsibilities: Radiation Therapist needed for delivery of srt and brachytherapy to skin cancer patients.Delivers treatment to patients and/or performs patient simulations according to written prescriptions, treatment plans, and orders provided by the Radiation OncologistExplains treatment procedures to patient and/or familyRefers medical questions to appropriate personnelProvides safety in patient care through the consistent practice of department protocols, policies and procedures for treatment administrationRecognizes deviations from prescribed treatment delivery and reports all deviations to the Operations ManagerResponds effectively to patient concernsObserves patients for expected and unexpected reactions to treatments and communicates this to appropriate staff membersReinforces patient education/side-effect management information and indicates non-compliance to medical/nursing staffAssures the quality of treatment delivery through the complete and accurate documentation of treatment recordsDisplays a thorough understanding of radiation oncology billing and codingReviews treatment/simulation documentation and billing on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness and works closely with radiation oncology codersMaintains an atmosphere of caring, concern and support for patients and their families, visitors, medical staff and co-workers on a consistent basisMaintains a safe and orderly patient treatment roomAssesses potential problems or difficulties with a set-upChecks safety controls and devices in the treatment room daily and reports problems managementPerforms warm up and calibration checks of equipment, as necessaryResponsible for the correct administration of all radiation therapy processes and proceduresEnsures that all administration and documentation requirements are initiated and completed in a professional and timely mannerMaintains confidentiality on all issuesDemonstrates ability to participate as an active and effective member of a team Qualifications and Experience Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training in an accredited Radiation Therapy Education ProgramPowered by JazzHR
