Overview Summer Associate will work in the Human Resources division, serving on the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team. The CSR team, also known as Navy Federal Serves, leads strategy and execution for how the credit union shows up as a positive corporate citizen - through giving of time, talent and treasure - and purposefully engages employees in volunteer programs and campaigns that give back to our members, employees and the communities where we live and serve. Navy Federal is continuing to grow its CSR program of work and the programs we offer to our employees that empower them to get involved and engage with causes that matter to them. This role will lead a project that will focus on the next iteration of our employee CSR programs. The summer associate will have enterprise-wide responsibility and work collaboratively with the Senior CSR Program Manager, Human Resources and various business units to achieve the outcomes of the project: Pro Bono/Skill-Based Volunteer Program. The project will include: An audit of competitor offerings of pro bono/skill-based volunteer programs (within Fortune 100 companies, large credit unions and financial institutions) Research on best practices with pro bono/skill-based volunteer programs; leveraging resources from Boston College Center for Corporate Citizenship, Social Rev and Association of Corporate Citizenship Professionals. A comprehensive benefit analysis of a pro bono/skill-based volunteer programs. Scenario mapping that outlines program structure, budget, etc. A detailed recommendation. The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2024 and ending in August 2024. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify, applicants must be currently pursuing degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2024 or after. Responsibilities Assist in the planning, execution, and tracking of various programs and projects. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure program goals are met. Manage specific program components, including timelines, resources, and deliverables. Utilize project management tools and methodologies to achieve successful outcomes. Maintain open and clear communication with stakeholders, team members, and program participants. Prepare reports and updates as necessary to keep all parties informed. Collect and analyze data related to program performance. Use data insights to make informed decisions and improvements. Create and maintain program documentation, including project plans, status reports, and standard operating procedures. Qualifications Basic research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze user experience and identify opportunities. Strong multi-tasking and the ability to meet deadlines. Familiar with Agile methodologies/principles. Strong communication and collaborative skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals. Ability to solve operational and/or system problems and issues. Exercise good judgment and decision making.
