Job Description- The Engineering & Product Development Job Family Group is responsible for the engineering and technical operations of the organization, as well as managing or performing research and development. Activities include undertaking research, design, and development to improve the organization's products and services; designing, constructing, testing, and operating equipment; ensuring that standards of quality, cost, safety, reliability, timeliness, and performance are met in production processes; interpreting plans, drawings, and specifications; developing and testing theories under various conditions in a laboratory environment; researching the environmental effects of the organization's activities.The Product Development Job Family discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements to existing products or strategic product extensions. Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost, reliability and safety, designs, develops, executes and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans; Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize designs for manufacturability.Job requires the ability to apply industry standards or education / training, as well as using conceptual knowledge of theories, practices and procedures. Working within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
