SummaryThe Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst facilitates software testing by reviewing requirements and user stories, and serving as a liaison between the user and developers to create formal, detailed test plans. This role requires excellent requirements development and prioritization skills, strong communications, and teamwork abilities. ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties: * Provides business and requirements analysis, communications, and documentation services to the organization. * Creates detailed test plans to allow for comprehensive regression testing to identify bugs or issues before a system is implemented in production. Plans should be detailed enough to be used as a guide to create automated testing scripts.* Works with team to develop test scripts. Designs, develops, and executes detail-oriented test scripts and test cases using test plans and project specifications.* Reports defects found in testing diligently, promptly, and accurately.* Reports test progress against schedules.* Provides a test summary report that reflects the quality attributes of the software under test.* Acts as a liaison between product owners and the Information Technology (IT) department.* Assists in automating repetitive testing processes.* Assists in testing and user validation of solutions before implementation.* Assists business stakeholders with transforming customer needs from IT systems into effective functional requirements.* Contributes to and documents non-functional requirements, particularly those related to transforming software applications into viable commercial products. * Helps with management and development of IT strategic plans, policies, programs, and schedules for software products and systems to accomplish corporate goals and objectives.* Helps develop and establish operating policies and approaches for computing and IT.* Maintains a working knowledge of procedures, such as the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), project management, change control, and configuration management.* Participates in IT software development and management meetings.* Exercises discretion and works independently.* Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications and requirementsEssential Knowledge:Knowledge of IT, computer systems, and software. Ability to understand users and their requirements. Communicates effectively with IT staff. Ability to document all systems, processes, and procedures. Knowledge of Agile Scrum roles, activities, and operations. Knowledge of healthcare IT systems and the healthcare software market is preferred but not required.Essential Education:* Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or a related field is required.* At least three years of experience in a similar position is desired.* Experience in an Agile Scrum software development environment is required. * Previous experience with healthcare programs and software product development is preferred.Essential Skills:Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to participate in and lead group meetings. Ability to function effectively as a Scrum team member and promote teamwork among the team and other stakeholders.Desired CharacteristicsOrganizational "Fit" Considerations:This position may require extended work hours during the week, weekends, holidays, and on-demand to prevent adverse situations.
