Summary: TWB (a part of Worthington) is seeking a Welding Engineering Intern to join their team. This position offers valuable hands-on experience and learning opportunities in the field of welding engineering. As an intern, you will work closely with our experienced Engineering team and contribute to projects in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment. We welcome current students as well as recent college graduates with a passion for welding engineering and a desire to grow their skills in a supportive and dynamic work environment.Why you'll love interning here:* Gain practical experience in a leading manufacturing organization* Collaborate with experienced professionals who are eager to mentor and guide you* Access to a diverse range of welding engineering projects* Exposure to cutting-edge technology and industry best practices* Opportunity to make meaningful contributions and see the impact of your work* Competitive compensation package* Networking opportunities with industry experts Responsibilities:* Assist in the development and execution of welding engineering projects* Collaborate with the team to improve welding processes and techniques* Conduct research and analysis to support new product development initiatives* Participate in troubleshooting and resolving welding-related issues* Learn and apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize efficiency and quality* Support the maintenance of standardized operating procedures* Assist in data collection and analysis for process improvement projects* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion* Contribute to continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team Skills and Qualifications:* Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field* Knowledge or coursework in welding processes and techniques* Familiarity with industrial controls (PLC) and robotics is a plus* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment* Eagerness to learn and contribute to projects* Attention to detail and strong organizational skills Additional Requirements:* Must be physically able to work in a manufacturing environment* Openness to occasional travel for expanded development opportunities throughout TWB* Valid driver's license required* Potential for continued co-op - working full-time during breaks and part-time while continuing studiesNote: This is an internship position, and the duration and compensation will be determined based on the individual's availability and agreement with TWB (Worthington).
