This position will ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or telecommunications product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. The incumbent will focus on using relevant experience, strong problem solving, and customer service skills to assist with installing, testing, and maintaining the secure/non-secure telecommunication systems in close coordination with the Government. Job Description Responsibilities / DutiesPerform site surveys, cable testing, and installationPerform functional analysis, timeline analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specificationsTest, maintain, and monitor telecommunications programs and systems, including coordinating the installation of telecommunications programs and systemsMaintain documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service recordsDevelop, implement, and manage policies and proceduresAssist with deployment of voice and wireless networks, including routers, hubs, switches, and other hardwareConduct research on telecommunication products, services, protocols, and standardsSuggest and implement innovative telecommunication solutionsConfigure and test telecommunication systems to ensure their smooth and reliable operationMonitor and troubleshoot problems as neededMaintain a strong awareness of technical trends in telecommunications, develop and maintain a strong awareness of on-going IT and telecommunications and wireless projectsProvide analysis, design, development, deployment, and lifecycle support for innovative hardware systems and applicationsDevelop and maintain telecommunication diagrams and user manualsWork on all phases of solutions from analysis and design through implementation and supportOperating hand tools, power tools, ladders, and test equipment.May require operating motor vehicles. Minimum Requirements Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and graduate of a telecommunications / electronics technical school program3 years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experienceKnowledge of the practical application of telecommunications engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and modelsTechnology Design - Generating or adapting telecommunications and wireless equipment and technology to serve user needs.Strong knowledge of telecommunication protocols, hardware, and cabling standardsFamiliarity with security best practices and compliance requirementsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsActive DoD Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibilityContinental and Oversees travel may be required. You must maintain a current passportCertification Requirements:Certified Telecommunications Network Specialist or Certified IP Telecom Network Specialist or other similar certification. Work EnvironmentIt is important to be able to work any shift/designated hours required.You may be asked to continue performance in support of a war, contingency, or exerciseYou may be asked to continue performance during inclement weather or other conditions when others are not permitted to workPosition may require night and weekend work and could include travel with the military to participate in operations/exercises located in areas with field conditionsOutside work may include various environmental conditions including hot, dusty, cold, icy and windy climates. More Information Requirements of position: Think analytically, effective verbal and written communication skills, make decisions, observe/remember details, interpret data, concentrate on tasks, adjust to change, handle stress/emotions. Regular attendance, maintain work schedule, attend meetings, meet deadlines, keyboard/type, handle confidential information, use math/calculations, stay organized, operate office equipment, may direct others.
